Doo Wop

Many have argued that this is a far superior version than the Little Caesar & The Romans original version. I am inclined to agree with them. This group is just awesome!. Make your own minds up.

  • beautiful oldie...

  • I've heard that the Nino version 2was played on the East Coast & the Little Caesar version was played out west. Listening to local WIBG in Philadelphia they played the Little Caesar version. As a record collector I didn't hear the Nino version till years later (but I do own both).

  • @dr57doowop All you need to do is play each version back to back and it is beyond obvious that Nino and the Ebtides version is better, especially during the chorus. Listen up, it is way better!

  • Those O B G,s remind me of you,A great alternate version that I heard on Norn N Nite,s SiriusXX Saturday show recently.I love the alternate version even though it's not the Standard of Little Caesar and The Romans...Great Post and remember DOO WOP is truly non stop!!!

  • at least this version is grammatically correct!!!!..."remind" not "reminds" as Little Caesar sings!!!!...

  • I agree superior to Little Caesar,more dooooo wop...dg

  • I used to hear this occasionally on the Doo-Wop Shop on CBS-FM, and always enjoyed it. Little Caesar & Co. is charming, with the plaintive lead and plodding piano, and I think the recitation on Little Caesar's version is better. But I prefer this one, especially the background part. And yes, "remindS me of you" drives me crazy, too!

  • Little Caesar's version is more emotional, that's why people prefer it, regardless of quality. Its rings more true.

  • I grew up in the Hartford, CT listening area and Nino and the Ebb Tides' version of the song was the hit, with Little Caesar's version getting less airplay. I was glad, too, because I thought Nino's version superior and Little Caesar's "reminds me of you" drove me crazy, even as an 8th grader. I was totally surprised to find out later that Nino's version never hit the Billboard Top 100.

  • Classic.
