Finally got someone to do some video of my new electric racer.
Probably does at least 60mph.

Its an Extreme Composites Mustang.
Motor Medusa 36-60 2000 Kv with heatsink
5S 3700Mah (3 year old lipo and abused as hell, a wonder it still works)
7x7 Prop, 100amp esc

Will be getting a new 6S 40~50c lipo soon, so we should see some real speed eventually.

You'll notice in the video, all the speed runs are level and coming out of incredibly high G turns, slowing the plane down a lot.

In a diving pass, she is a lot quicker obviously, but i had a few too many people around to do any close fast runs, maybe next time.

hope you enjoyed it.

  • Hi Wobby01, I just bought this plane. After seeing your video I had to have one! Found it in a little shop in Norway! I am thinking of using a 1600Kv Align Trex 500 helicopter motor in it running 6S 3000MAh (35C) battery and a 6.5 X 6.5 Graupner Speed Prop. The Medusa motor you posted, is out of production. I am concerned with the wing loading but saw that you are running 5S, Have you weighed your plane? Any issues with landing it? I am nterested in your experiences before my maiden. Tx!

  • My plane is very very heavy for something so small, but she flies easy, no tip stalling tendencies, landings are fast, ive been through 4 sets of wheels because of the high landing speeds over bumps in the grass.

With the high pitch prop, take it carefull on take off, it takes a while for the plane to get to flying speed, as the prop will be fully stalled on take off, and can take a further 5 seconds before the prop grabs, and the planes flies nice.

  • @rccardude04 No - not at all. It's not my description - it's Wobby01's description. Quote '60 mph" unquote.

I think most of us realise that it's a frikken heck of a lot more than 60 - well over 200 and approaching 300... mph.. ;)

    Q:)

  • @Quokka57 I assumed you were being sarcastic in the description. I thought it was funny. :p :)

  • @rccardude04 LoL - yah. Def a piss-take. 1500ft in 4 secs is 255mph, in 3 secs it's 340mph. Ok, maybe some give and take of the exact feet in the exact seconds, but *WAAAY* more than 60mph.

    Good one Wob ;)

    Q:)

  • LOL @ 60mph
