  • God! you know he was wore out. He can play a single bass faster than most can do with 2.

  • long live ian paice sole surviving member of the original roundabout band

  • Paice's drum solo reminds me a lot of those of John Bonham & Ginger Baker: Imporovised, lots of tom & snare with less cymbal, big build up, very similar drum solo songs (Moby Dick, Toad, & this version of The Mule are pretty similar).

  • Jo THX :-)

  • @drummercraig21 I agree somewhat, but the real point of drumming is to keep time for the other musicians so they can play the melody, harmony and solos. The drummer should almost always lock in w/the the piano, bass, or rhythm guitar and let whoever else is in the band get the point of the song across. Rush is an exception to the rule but drummers are generally hired to be clocks, human metronomes. Keeping time rarely involves improvising. The drum solo is something else entirely.

  • @eqsmooth Very well said.

  • saw deep purple and the orchestra few days ago at the 26th (november) and they kicked ace, got paice's signed drumsticks.
