This is the full version of Cripple Creek, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th breaks, as taught by Geoff Hohwalds book Banjo Songs. Its a lengthy song for a novice, as Im used to very short songs, but once you get it right, its easy and very pleasant to pick. Measures 21, 22, 23 and 24 are the most difficult in my opinion, but all it takes its practice. Guest appearance of our dog Zoey. Shes half pit-bull, half plott hound, but very docile. The flag flying with great pride and grace is our beloved Mississippi flag. Thats all, folks!

Video proudly recorded on my front yard in Mississippi. February 7, 2009.

  • that pickin sounds damn good where can i get a banjo like that

  • @mazda1553 Thank you! You can get that there banjo anywhere, really. That there is a very cheap "J. Reynolds" model, similar to any other budget banjos... I started with it, but if I can recommend anything, if you're serious about pickin', get something with a tone ring and low action. If you ain't sure, or can't afford it, just get something cheap, then upgrade later on. I got a new Washburn B17 and I couldn't be happier, but it took me 3 years to do so.

  • Dude, you kick ass. I love the banjo and the minivan. Stay away from them Yankee women! We're from Vicksburg. Check out our videos. You will dig them, I guarantee it.

  • @McCaaBros Thank you very much y'all! Big howfy to Vicksburg, my kin folk is back in Louisville. Yep, I'll check your videos, my pleasure!

  • What's with the chrysler minivan? Shouldn't that be a old ford pickup or something? LOL. Great job on the pickin, love it!

  • @HellzNord Yep, I'm with you, and you're right. Unfortunately, I had to leave my old F-150 when I moved out of Florida and back to Mississippi, so that van that you see, was my Yankee girlfriend's at the time. Thanks for the compliment :)
