A Live performance of "Der Lindenbaum" by Franz Schubert sung á capella by Dorothea Fayne (Mezzo-Soprano) in the Zero Gallery - Berlin at the Vernissage of Nina Knezevic. This is the fifth song in Schubert's Song Cycle, "Der Winterreise." In this song a lover speaks about a lime tree, which stands outside the city gate. It was under this tree that two lovers had often met. The one lover (the singer) has carved many loving words into the bark of the lime tree. Now the branches of the lime tree even call the lover to come again and visit him - so beautiful were the love scenes under his branches... (February 2007)
