One of my new Seiko's. Very nice watch, heavy and full metal bracelet.

This is essentially a Seiko Monster, the main difference being the Starfish bezel and the rubber watch band design. That's a really good looking watch. How does it compare with the Seiko Monster? And do you prefer the Monster or this one?

The monster seems more robust and more like it would withstand even when being treated badly, the Seiko 5 is more a great looking watch and something like a fashion statement. Nevertheless, both are really good and I like them equally.

Kind of. Depending on what you are looking for in a watch you should decide. If you gonna use the watch for being rough I'd recommend the original Monster.
