Religion is man's attempted to organize and control the power of "The Placebo Effect".

@ThinkerResearcher (part 2 response) Good points. There is proof of Jesus existence(Bible, people in the Bible) but it's debatable. I guess if something is debatable it's not good enough. Existence of God would be really hard to show for people now days(From what I said earlier about free will). The only proof of God's existence is everything that is debatable about the creation of earth/life.

@GETURHANDSUP916 (part 2) and left us the choice to follow him or not, it wouldn't be the same. After all, christians told me more than once that god is able to know if you follow him by fear or love. I think giving proof of his existence instead of counting on his followers to spread the message doesn't change the outcome, it just helps the ones who are decieved into believing otherwise. It's fairly simple if you think about it. But well, i guess we don't all see it like this.

The way I see it is. God doesn't control your life like a robot. Whatever happened I believe it happened for a reason that is beyond me. Look even though there is a lot pain and suffering going on in this life. There is a lot of good in it. Imagine if God chose not to create you and maybe all the people you came across haven't had you convinced of the truth.I'm going to be praying that some day you will be convinced what is the truth. Not everything out there can be explained by human reason.

@GETURHANDSUP916 so my free will is believing in other humans that tell me his story, while having no way to know what religion is the true one, or burning in hell, which he created for the sake of letting me "choose" to go there, just in case. This sounds like a great mean to gain scared followers, but an unconvincing one. If that's all it takes, if another religion emerges, and propose a worse punishment, i'm better off following them. Also, if god beamed his existence into our heads, (cont..)

@ThinkerResearcher The God I know of gives free will. He won't make you serve him. If someone chooses to go to Hell he will honor their decision. God/Jesus was already here and look what happened. If God came right now with all the bells and whistles he would be either called an alien or fake special effect, and people would serve him for the wrong reasons. They would serve out of fear. From what I know the claims about Jesus seem to be the most true. His birth was predicted, death, rise, life...

@GETURHANDSUP916 Also, being all knowing, he knew that satan would defy him beforehand, yet he created him. Being all powerfull, he could have made satan disappear easily, but he preferred creating a place where all these people would burn. Being all loving, he ignores all these poor souls that are condemned to hell, because he prefers to let humans spread his message, making it impossible for people to know wich is true between their claims and others. This makes no sense to me.

@GETURHANDSUP916 hmm... When you say god created hell for satan and the fallen angels, do you assume that all innocent people who weren't convinced by humans sharing his message, but lived a good fulfilling life helping others, would find themselves burning for eternity is "collateral damage" ? God being all knowing, he certainly knew beforehand that all these people would unjustifiably burn, yet he sent his son to die, only to save a set of people ? I think that is wrong...

@ThinkerResearcher True it wouldn't seem fair but I live with this reality. I too have family members that died and maybe went to Hell because of some of those same circumstances. The reason that they didn't believe can maybe be placed on whoever preached to them but I wasn't there. The only hope that you and me have is that we may be saved and whoever is still living. That is the reason Jesus died. He said Whoever confesses with his/her mouth that he is Lord and believes it will be saved.

@GETURHANDSUP916 I think seing a miracle ( a true one) which would proove christianity right, would make me more sad than anything else. Being from africa, i have lots of animists ancestors (and by that i mean even grandparents), being from Mali, Africa, and that would mean that even those who were good and generous, would be in hell just because they didn't know/weren't convinced by the ideologies of the invaders. I don't think this would be fair...

It is so sad that so many people have to Believe, Kill and Suffer for a Mythical, Magical Non-Existent Bronze Age Slave Driver without Question. Mankind is not ready for the 21st Century until we completely eradicate Religion and Destroy all thoughts of gods and Super Natural Beings.
Man Made god, Not, god Made Man - We must send religion and gods back to the Bronze Age Never to Return - NEVER!

Alhass: You are joking, Right? If not, you best look outside your door and see all those that have died and are dieing for this mythical belief system. Go to the Middle East and watch the crimes again women and children, the death & destruction all because people think that their myth is better than the other. No, religion has been and still is a Cancer that must be removed before it kills all of us.
Man Made god, Not, god Made Man - Religion and gods belong only in books, not in Society.
