You really don't know what you are talking about. The bonsai masters of the world would laugh at you and probably be ashamed for the misinformation you spread.

You simply don't know what you are talking about if you REALLY like Bonsai go learn, I'm sure you can find someone to teach you about Bonsai.

@SanRafaelSwell You're right. What was I thinking. The simple act of observing mangroves in their natural distribution shows they prefer water with at least some salt in it.
I do believe this is the first time I can agree I've made a mistake in my bonsai videos.
-
If freshwater were more beneficial for mangroves then we would observe more mangroves in freshwater than in brackish or salty water. Do we see this? No. Mangroves evolved to survive in such places. That is there niche and that is where they are most "happy". As for misting your trees, I'm not talking about something they need but something that is beneficial and misting ANY species is beneficial as it slows transpiration through the leaves.
-
@SanRafaelSwell Oh, sometimes even a matured tree needs a new pot. I believe someone once said "The only finished bonsai is a dead one."
-
Can't think of any situation in bonsai where changing the pot it something that should be considered unless you are going from a training pot to a proper "frame" pot.
-
The section about pots was very short. I could have done a whole video about pot selection, but the most important part was for people to understand the pots may need to be larger in size as the tree ages.
I agree that a bonsai pot is matched to each tree. The whole thing has to look good. Not even any of my trees are in final pots, I'm always looking for something better.
Stop criticizing me on things I did not say.

Wow, the bullshit on the pot is hilarious. You have very little understand of bonsai as an art. The pot is the frame to the picture. There are basically different types of pots used in bonsai; training and proper. A training pot can be anything that will allow good root growth and promote a good root-mat. A proper pot is picked based on size, style, colors, etc. A proper bonsai pot is matched to the tree just as a frame is matched to a painting. PLEASE STOP SPREADING YOUR CRAP!!!
Nice video,
Just my 5cent though
@02:00 : humidity tray "myth".
Its actually pretty much useless outside, but should be used INSIDE WHEN NEEDED.
Its for indoor bonsai use mainly, and you dont fill it up with water then put it under the pot [ @02:20 ]. But simply put it under the pot and it should prevent excess water from spilling over on your table or whatever furniture you placed your pot on.

@xtolord Even inside a house a humidity tray doesn't provide humidity. It's just rate of evaporation, and the large space (whole room) which prevents condensation. Humidity trays are useless. They just can't provide humidity.
If you think of it as a drainage tray, thats fine. If you have in indoor bonsai and don't want water pouring everywhere use a drainage tray. Just don't hold the false belief that it provides humidity.
Oh, and make sure the pot has "feet" to elevate the bottom.
