MMMMM Why is it the more an animal suffers the better it taste. LOL you tree hugging Veggies don't know what you are missing! PS there are many "Humane" goose farmers. Check out Ramseys F Word.

@AlenkaPanda, who the hell are you to tell me or anyone what to eat and what not to eat? You tree hugging animal loving bitches are going too far. I've never heard of getting E. COLI from eating foie gras. Your vegetables are covered with feces with more than 100,000 cfu/ml of E. Coli. Diseased? You're fucking ignorant. I will still eat foie gras even if it's banned in California, like Chicago, it will eventually be overturned.

it came from diseased, dying and hurt ducks that are force fed by pipes through their throats that tear and scar their throats 3 times a day. These ducks sit in small cages dying and getting sick in their own vomit, going insane. little cages leave huge scars and tear their flesh, while rats are snacking on them. Eat you delicacy while watching that!!

you people are worse than animals, you don't even deserve to be compared to humans!!. how can you eat this liver when you are aware of the way its made? Stopping cruel tratment of animals is not easy, and McDonalds is also to blame for the treatment of chickens, but this is not that popular and big, and still has a chance of being stopped!! next time you want your fucking delicassy of foie gras, watch a vidoe of how the ducks are treated you sickos. The liver is diseased!

@cdgraves68 It is the purposely fattened liver of a goose who has been force fed so that its liver bloats up to 3-4 times its normal size. It's considered a delicacy and is classically served pan seared on brioche and toasted to with Sauternes sweet wine. It can also be made into a mousse or a terrine. It's hella expensive and the best comes from France and Israel. Try it some time or look for ways to prepare it, cook it and eat it.

The butter was brown, not burnt. You seriously think brown butter doesn't compliment the pears and almonds?
As for Searing on one side, that is a matter of preference.
Why on earth did he add butter????? DUMB!!!

@cdgraves68, foie gras is one of the most expensive delicacy in this planet. It's creamy, rich, tons of flavor. First time I tried it when i was 14 years old, I haven't stopped eating it. I actually just bought some fresh foie gras that i'll be cooking this sunday.
