I recall reading about Joni's "latest" album in a New Zealand feminist magazine "Broadsheet" around 1977. The writer was still talking about "gentle folk songs." Ker- rist! Obviously peeps have their own agenda when they listen to her.

@moezmoe1960 Exactly. I don't agree with her smoking but that shouldn't overshadow her artistic and creative sense as a musician. She is alot brighter and wiser than half the 'musicians' out today. I like the fact that she painted most of her album covers too!

Guy is a fan for 30 years but thinks Shine sucks? Go deeper, it's a highly beautiful highly creative melodic socially-conscious original work.
