Reagan Ad Opposing Government Takeover of Health Care

This is a video version of a radio advertisement being used to oppose the health care 'reform' bill that is currently making its way through Congress. The ad features excerpts from Ronald Reagan's 1961 program called Operation Coffee Cup. Then private citizen Ronald Reagan was hired by the American Medical Association to speak-out against socialized medicine. Reagan's message is as relevant today as it was then. While this ad is currently sponsored by Minnesota Majority, it can be rebranded and used by any other organization that is interested in opposing ObamaCare.

The definition of "socialized medicine" is the Government owning the hospital. There is nothing in the health care bill that does that. Please stop trying to imply that. It's wrong, and does nothing to advance the debate on health care.

Ok, owning one hospital doesn't even come close to Socialism, let alone Communism. If anything, letting that hospital compete against private hospials to help reduce cost is the backbone of Capitalism.

It's not difficult to follow. When government runs industry, it's socialism. When government owns industry, it's communism. Health care is an industry. The federal government already runs half of all health care in the nation. With the health care bill, Congress and the president want to take over all of it.
