The music and words to this English / Scottish border ballad date back to the middle ages, as does the church we perform it in.
A close relative of this song, 'Lord Randal' was the inspiration behind the opening lines of one of Bob Dylan's most powerfully poetic songs 'A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall'.
We performed it at Thatcham's Festival of the Arts in October 2006.
Thatcham, itself, is a very old town. It is believed that the first settlement was established on the site of the church around the year 500 AD.

  • I sense the dark side in the drummer.

  • speriamo prof. che la verifica sia andata bene, essendo qui almeno dimostro "che ci ho provato" a studiare

  • speriamo prof. che la verifica sia andata bene...essendo qui dimostro di aver "provato" a studiare.........

  • It's a very good version of Lord Randal... I studied the ballad 2 years ago and when I listened to this track I smiled 'cause I recognized the ballad by the text... it's very beautiful...

  • Very good version.A monk onh the drums!.5 stars!

  • Magnificent, i first heard this sung by the matchless Alfred Deller, but you have, of course, arranged it differently and have sung it as beautifully, although again differently, than did Deller.

  • Definitely the best version I've heard, :D

  • Best version ever heard! :D

  • Thanks for posting this as a response to mine - I've really enjoyed listening to this song. It has a greast beat and lyrics.
