A holy grail for collectors!!! One of the rarest mellow dancers of all time. Luther Vandross shines with his impeccable singing supported by group's co-members David Lalsey and Ula Hedwig. 9 minutes and 18 seconds of pure pleasure.

The track kicks off with a flight-announcement and grows into a superb mellow Disco groove thanks to Luther's distinctive vocal delivery. Taken from the 1979 rare LP entitled "See you in L.A." released on Ensign Records.

  • If someone sells it i m interested...

  • Glad this is finally on CD !

  • Great to hear this fine track again!

  • la grande classe

  • Yes it is on CD (very obscure though) as I have a copy. It's a Polish import. Most probably a bootleg but it's on CD nevertheless....

  • @atmosfear1 - yes, it is indeed Paula Yates at the window...

  • Yep. It's definitely Paula Yates on the cover. She was going out with Bob Geldof at the time this was released... The Boomtown Rats were also signed to Ensign. More photos of her on the back sleeve too.

Other vocalists on the LP are Ula Hedwig and David Lasley. Mascara were a studio only band conceived by Caister soul dj Chris Hill and German producer Jurgen S Korduletsch. Backing tracks recorded in Munich, vocals in New York.

And no, it's not available on CD and was never released in the US.

  • oh i just found out, paula yates is the girl at the back at the window :o

i didnt even see a gllr at the window last time i looked lol

  • I still dont think the girl on the cover looks like Paula Yeats :-o

seems like shes credited from what ive researched, still doesnt look if its her to me.

Could be my eyes getting old though :p

  • What a fantastic tune this is!! just shows how versatile Luther was,(even though this was in his very early career, 1979) the vocals are superb on this track, Disco, Soul, R'n'B, Pop, he did it all.

Although imho he was best at the Love Songs :)

Theres so much going on in this song all at the same time,

    An amazing track altogether!!
