I peered over my magazine and checked out a pretty hot guy standing less than ten feet away from me, that's the beauty of sunglasses, nobody can tell you're checking them out. I nudged my best friend, Becca, who looked at me and nodded in agreement. Both single and Happy, this was our favourite pass time. That's the beauty of being single, you can stare at every set of bare abs you set eyes on and not feel guilty. In the dead of summer in California, that saves you a LOT of guilt. 'I recon he worth keeping' I smiled nodding my head in the direction of the guy, he had hazel eyes, medium length brown hair -not so long it took effort to care for it, but long enough for a girl to run her fingers through, he also had a great body. That's enough for me to look at. 'go talk to him then!' I nodded 'right' I handed Becca the magazine and set off walking over to him 'I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy, I'll be your hope I'll be your love be everything that you-' Damn, where did I put my phone? BAG! I rummaged around in my bag and quickly pressed accept pressing the phone to my ear 'Hello?' 'Anna?' I sighed at the sound of my older sisters voice 'What is it, Liz?' 'can you do me a huge huge huge favour?' I rolled my eyes 'what did you forget now?' I swear, the girl would forget her own head if it wasn't screwed on! 'Well, I was feeding Jordan this morning and I put the kids tests on the worktop, I forgot to pick them up...' I sighed 'Fine. But you owe me! I'll be there in ten' I turned back to Becca since the guy had gone anyway. I opened my mouth to explain but she started first 'Lizzie?' I nodded 'forgot some tests, I'm gonna go run them in for her, I'll meet you back at yours in 20, Kay?' she nodded. I ran across the park and hopped into my car, I drove to the house that I shared with my older brother, older sister and nephew. I saw a bright red box on the counter, now how the hell did she manage to miss that?! I shook my head and picked up the box and drove to the school, I walked into the reception 'Hey Susan, can I run these in for Lizzie?' How bad is it if you're on first name terms with the receptionist? she smiled and nodded 'Yeah, sure, go on in' I put my hand on the door about to walk through 'Oh, and Anna?' I turned back 'yeah?' 'The kids are on their lunch, so don't say I didn't warn you' I nodded and walked through the doors warily. High school kids, the last thing I need, at 24 I was glad to be rid of the education for good. I saw a guy and a girl making out, his hands slid up her top as I walked past, I wrinkled my nose in disgust. Do these kids have no dignity? I turned and walked outside and set off across the court yard to be greeted by several kids smoking, I nearly got pushed over by two guys kicking a soccer ball around. I finally made it to the centre building, the one for all the core subjects -the main hall was in here too, I knew none of those type of kids would be walking around in here. I relaxed as I and set off down the now familiar hallway, then something stopped me in my tracks. The sound of... I can't even put it into words. It was enough to make me forget about the stupid kids outside. Enough to make this visit worthwhile. It was breathtaking.
