it shows the simple truth that if we begin to think thoughts that aren't right than it just a matter of time before we are fading and we could lose everything God has given to us! i think it is trying to show how everything leads up to the choices we make
its showing you the end result and then taking you back, kinda like a warning for you to watch your choices and to go back from square one and start again on the right path
