"Complete Streets" concept is a priority for the Salt Lake City Council in 2011.

People, not just cars, must be able to move safely along and across the street. "Complete streets" are those streets designed and built with motorists, bicyclists, walkers and other users in mind. Means a balance for all users of the street -- matter of slowing cars down and creating a safer environment for everyone.

The Salt Lake City Transportation Division along with Fehr and Peers Transportation Consultants are studying 800 South and Sunnyside Avenue, between 900 East and Foothill Drive. The goal of the study is to understand the transportation and livability challenges along this corridor and to propose and implement solutions consistent with the Complete Streets philosophy.
