Back in Feb 2003, Eastern Shipbuilding Group in Panama City, Fl side launched this 232 foot vessel. It's an oil platform supply ship, the Harvey Provider.
Very cool to see in person! In the first part of the video, the torches are cutting three sets 'pins' that hold the ship from sliding. About half way through the third one, the weight of the ship finishes the job!
The next side launch will be in a month or two, but they are rear launching the first of two New York Fire Boats tomorrow (Sept 11th) at 11am at the Nelson Street yard. It will be difficult to get in as this will be a major event for the yard.

Any idea when they will launch another ship? I would love to see that in person.
