Today's mistake is an example of how translating something literally into another language doesn't always work. Some things, like this, sound polite in one language, but translated literally into another language, sound odd or rude.

This is the video of the woman driving in Saudi Arabia:

  • It sounded like you were pronouncing women as woman. Do New Zealanders not pronounce women as wimen???

  • Good question ... I'm not sure about the answer to this. I have a feeling that it's common for people in NZ to pronounce woman and women the same way (like woman). But some people think this is wrong.

  • add this lesson to ur ajenda,it is rude to judge people without having fulknowledge WEkepedia is not a relaible source.i'm Saudi female.i work,i go every where.either with our family or by taxies buses, trains.cultures differe from each others, and as a civilized person u should respect my culture even if u dont agree with it.however, women are not inferior to men,but they are treated with care and protection out of love and respect just like precious dimond. women symbolizes, family, houner, pride

  • Women will never be equal to men... until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are beautiful.

  • @qtabah99 Dear precious diamond, as another Saudi female, I just have to say that what you wrote is a load of BS. You seem to be happy, good for you, but that's certainly not the case for everyone here. How about being treated like an actual person instead of a "diamond" or any other type of rock? Crazy concept, huh? Anyway, I have not met a woman who gets treated like a diamond, but I've heard that phrase many times before. It's duckspeak, if you repeat it enough times you'll believe it's true

  • that's what you see,,, but next time you should ask about the resone why Womens don't drive in Saudi Arabia

  • SO I see NOOOO problima... oops you want me to speak in Italy too...? well

I think its enough for today

    PEACE

    Abdulmajeed from Saudi Arabia
