This clip was discovered hidden away in the Metroid Prime ISO. The voice heard in the clip belongs to Jennifer Hale, the voice actor for Samus in all three Metroid Prime games. Sounds like it was originally meant to be used in the opening sequences of the game to provide backstory. One likely reason for its exclusionis that Nintendo didn't want to have Samus truly speak to the player, instead remaining the silent protagonist. The narration at the beginning of the Metroid Prime track in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is based on this. The intro video is the same you can see in the final game

  • THis voice is WAY better than the one they put in Other M. Wish they had stuck with it.

  • I have a crush on Jennifer Hale's voice.

  • Pffff, this can't be Samus, her voice isn't monotone and NOT ONCE did she mention a baby. I call fake

  • @DoctorPorkenfries No.

Nothing about Other M, not even its gameplay, was good.

Hold 2 and roll your thumb in a circle on the D-Pad is NOT good gameplay.

  • @Brutalious They consider the grunts and noises she makes her "first" voice. Jennifer Hale herself said she gets a surprising amount of mail about her role as Samus.

  • People implying this was Samus' original voice. She is clearly talk ABOUT Samus.

  • @420bluntsmokerxXx I wasn't trying to be offensive, whats your problem.

  • @Spirit70Dark

You can't be fucking serious you goddamn ridiculous tool.

  • @Tseuhadon The problem is that the manga is an alternate continuity, it should not be considered canon because it has nothing to do with the videogames.

The manga was a merchandising technique, like the tv shows, animes, comics and mangas based off other game series like Mario, Zelda and Kirby. The main problem with it is that it didn't die away the way it should have, it stayed around for too long fucking everything up.

  • @Spirit70Dark I just hope that Nintendo learns from this game, from it's good points and from the horrible flaws it has. Or at least, give the franchise back to Retro Studios.

  • @Spirit70Dark Fusion gave her a persona, a persona that joked about a dead guy and called him some gruff Co. she served under sometime in the past. She was conveyed to us as what she should be, a hunter, a warrior, a person, and back then they didn't need to turn some incidental character into a huge Electra Complex for her, nor make her shake in fear before the SIXTH reincarnation of Ridley, or turn her life into a soap opera.

This game is a deconstruction of 20 years of silent development.

  • @Spirit70Dark No.

Nintendo and TN have a bunch of sexist writers who don't believe a woman can just be one of the guys, the kind of assholes that believe that all girls like ballet and develop irremediable crushes on any male figure that stays in their lives for a minute.

Just because she's not a crybaby in Prime it doesn't mean that she doesn't have personality, she's supposed to be serious, cold, responsible.

Making her into some bitch is not giving her personality, is making her OOC.
