Yes yes yes yes.....this is very good....at what point does a christian stop falling and not need Jesus? I say never.....He is our refuge and our portion....he is holding us....until that day.....I am no smarty pants....I am challanged by this for indeed I would desire to not need him...it would be so much more comfortable....Paul had a thorn and grace was sufficient......this is the Hard way when you pray for deliverence and it does not come....and yet He is with you.....He is your deliverer...
@123MrBurg My friend, you're putting words in my mouth.
We are saved by faith solely in Christ and Him crucified. We ALL have faith somewhere, and if it's not solely there, we are in eternal trouble, and we have to maintain it there.
Don't tell me that my believing that our faith must be in Christ and Him crucified means that I'm trying to take God's glory and put it on man. Read the Bible. Each of us has our sins ATONED for. WE have to accept the offer and maintain it.
@BradSSFL = All I asked was a question. Where do you get "God made the decision to become saved for us" from? That sounds confused, want to clear that up?
If you're depending on your salvation because you 'choose' to 'accept' Christ, then I dare say your faith is not in Christ, but yourself = a works based salvation = idolatry. Trust me, I was also astonished when I learned that I was guilty of this form of idolatry.
The word you are looking for is not 'accept' but 'repent'.
@123MrBurg No, I'm not doing what you accuse me of. Read the Bible, and see who's right. I'm speaking according to God's Word; you're speaking according to what the devil wants you to say.
If God made the decision to become saved for us, then the need for the Crucifixion would be completely null and void. Have you not considered this fact?
My friend, our sins are atoned for, but for us to be forgiven, we have to accept Christ and maintain our faith solely in Him-- not in Buddhism, Islam, etc..
@BradSSFL = Your comments reflect a works based salvation. If God saves me, nothing can take that away from me. Or you saying Man is stronger than God?
Paul Washer is as satanic a liar as you'll find. Don't be fooled by this Calvinist. Calvinism is probably the biggest lie in the "Christian" Church, as God does NOT decide who goes to Heaven and as man's decision to become and/or remain saved is NOT God's responsibility. (The entire Bible would be contradicted if it were.)
Washer is a subtle, poisonous, deceitful liar. His feud with Joel Osteen is nothing but a smokescreen to his even-more-poisonous heresy.
Notice, to th e one who posted this video, thank you. I do agree with the section of the sermon provided that a new believer need not expect the type of repentance of a more sanctified believer, yet I needed to emphasize that there is an immediate conversion due to the power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus moving inside the newly redeemed. It was my intent to show that a true understanding of repentance is also necessary so that they can then know of the committment they are making to God.
