2006 Mac Pro 1,1, won't turnover on power on. CPUa/b overtemp lights illuminated on logic board along with only trickle power. No other diagnostic lights turn on including power on, which leads me to suspect I have a PSU malfunction.

I'd appreciate any feedback!

I'm having the same problem. Did you find out if it was the power supply?

  • i took my ram out, let it sit in the sun, idk why i tryed it, put it back in the next day boom all good, it could be water? like liquid that makes the mother board wet? idk hah a;)

  • Many possible issues, ranked by most likely:

    Power Supply

    Motherboard

    CPU failure

Have you tried having NO memory in there, just for diagnostic sake? Perhaps remove the memory risers and see what happens? I know it sounds weird but sometimes any symptom can be useful. I would also disconnect any drive from the computer, hard disk and optical drive.

    Best of luck,

    Don
