well, it's that time of year again, folks -- 8/13 also known by fans as AKUROKU DAY, and i come bearing another video dedicated to axel and roxas. :) compared to 9 in the afternoon this one is subtler and VERY VERY SRZ BUSINESS, but hopefully it will be loved all the same!

here's wishing you all a very special axel/roxas day (or however you so call it), and hoping for many great ones to come! i made cupcakes for today! how are you celebrating?

ABOUT THE VIDEO, SINCE THERE IS AN ACTUAL STORY TO IT xD:

in short: this is the story of axel and roxas.

parts of the video are pretty self-explainatory, but here are some key points i tried to make known.

the very beginning during the first and second verses tells the story of what exactly happened to axel and roxas following roxas's departure. axel "died" in a sense, roxas forgot everything, and their lives fell to pieces; hence "shattered."

at the time the lyrics say "knowing that faith is all i know," roxas starts to recall what he and axel did when they weren't broken apart. it's a HUGE flashback that starts from roxas's birth and ends with axel's death.

the beginning of the instrumental part of the video tells the story from roxas's perspective, showing that he was very timid and unresponsive at first, but when axel showed his face and offered a friendly hand, roxas, though reluctant, took it and the two's friendship blossomed from there.

roxas realized that though axel always had a hand out to him for support -- whether it was after he lost a battle, needed someone to talk to, etc. -- that he had been lied to the entire time. and so he leaves.

following that axel's take on the story comes into play, showing all the things that happened to him after roxas's memory was wiped. he still tries to offer him a hand, still tries to support him, but roxas can't remember, and so they fight.

THESE TWO POINTS: forgetting the clocktower, axel offering his hand (IMPORTANT! xO) if there are parts you don't understand, lemme know!

i'd take this from both axel and roxas's perspective, though most of it falls on axel. so, whether you're a fan of the pairing or not, i once again wish you a very VERY VERY special akuroku day, and thank you for watching/commenting, m'dears.

The sadness relationship I've ever played. It goes beyond just basic friendship, it about fighting for a friendship that was never meant to be, without having a 'heart'.
