I just saw this movie and the first three minutes I was dying of laughter. This is how REAL funny truly is created. It's one of my favorites now.

@BraveZombie It wasn't silent. But I think I saw this scene in an earlier silent picture.

Wasn't this done originally in a silent film?

@Hetman1974 Wrong, they didn't send their sons. The ruling class was desk officers at best, farmers, peasants and workers were on the front.

In the old days the Kings and Presidents did not have Video Games. So they bought the modern inventions of Gattling Guns Tanks and Mustard Gas with Taxpayer money and sent their sons to War.

War is far from a game, sleeping in a muddy ditch for years (if u'd survive that long). They had hunting, sports and wine to entertain their sons. The aristocrats never sent their sons to war (couldn't risk ending the bloodline), actually the only aristocrat sons going to war were those who were sent to university becoming generals.. Look it up, no farmers nor workers were officers.. sitting by a desk in the capitol, drinking and dancing at night, sleeping warm and safe indoor.
