Wow people, you need to learn some history. South Korea was occupied by Japan and much of their culture has become mixed. Shabu Shabu places are all over the country and yes this is a Korean version of it. Its a great meal and cheap there too!!

most people think that but shabushabu actually derived from Mongolia (and I'm being serious, no joke)
in times of war and immigration, Mongolian soldiers used to use their helmets as bowls and put boiling water and the meat in it
this was done because they had to keep going and needed a food that can be cooked fast
