Die Maschinen - Animation Skills (Year 01 Animation UCA Farnham)

The Brief for this project was to come up with 10 different basic film ideas, and then pick one and expand it into a full Idea. For example, this animation started out as "A robot seeks revenge on his brothers death". I then began to write up the story in more detail, drew character designs, a storyboard, got all the sound ready and began animating. We only had to make it into an animatic, which is why it is not all fully/well animated. If you don't know what an animatic is... google it. I do realize that the story does not make much sense at all when you watch it, I really would have liked to make it longer and add voices, to make it more clear as to what is actually going on. Sadly though, I ran out of time, so below is an explanation of the story. Please read it before leaving comments saying "I don't get it".

Story Explanation:
Two Robot brothers work together in a toothpaste factory. One day they go out for a picnic in the park on their lunch break. One of the Robots briefly leaves to buy some hot micro-chips to eat. On his return, he finds his brother laying dead on the ground. He screams out in remorse. As he opens his eyes, he notices footprints leading away from the scene of the crime, and the perpetrator running off in the distance. The Robot, blinded with revenge, fiercely begins to chase down the criminal. He pounces on him, flips him over and then realizes.... that the robot that killed his brother looks exactly the same as him. He slowly stands up and looks around the park, only to find that there are more robots that look just like him. His hard-drive cannot compute that he is a clone, his head begins to shake and then explodes. Yes... that's right, it's a cop out ending because I couldn't think of anything really really good. Shhhhhhh
(Oh and "Die Maschinen" means "The Machines" in German, don't ask why I called it that... I just did)
