  • Ive always had a passing interest in this show, i got to watch about half of the first episode before i had to go out ( or something, i cant really remember)

What actualy happened? i remember there were nuke attacks or something but was it Russians, Chinese or what? Civil war?

Might have to see if i can find an old torrent or something.

  • @Antifaith29 go torrent or buy or something. this is my favorite show ever. first 7 episodes are just "good" but 8-22 are seriously the best tv i have ever seen, just have to let it set it self up. this clip here is from the series finale nothing too major is spoiled though. what actually happened was creative and awesome, it's in episode 18.

  • All the good series get canned. Enough already!

  • I dunno about this scene. The F-15 has a longer range radar than the F-16, and thus can target farther out with AIM-120s (though I only saw old model AIM-9 Sidewinders on the F-15). They would have seen the F-16s coming way before the Falcons could shoot at them.

Then again, that F-15 pilot was pretty gangsta. Like, hold your M61 sideways gangsta.

  • @TheLastCobalt yup, the only time hollywood ever had anything remotely true on guns was Top Gun "I'm too close for missiles, I'm switching to guns." Russian small lightweight Mig 21s in Vietnam were a royal pain for the purpose built F-4s, leading to the eventual F-16, which can easily be to an F-15 like a Mig-21 to the F-4. The TANG likely had some kind of ground or AWAC support helping delay detection until they were right in front of Jake firing on the edge of his visual range.

  • @WystenDraco Im sure the F-16s also would have a tighter turning radius as well, Besides, the F-15 have power on them, but not enough to dodge two AMRAAMs, lol. Your right too, Hollywood always does the close in missile shot, They forget, thats what guns are for.

  • "I don't know what you're carrying but it better be good, cause I think I just declared war on Cheyenne." Well legally, Cheyenne declared war on IROT first, thrice, first by attacking the Texas Embassy itself, trying to stop their consular jet from leaving Cheyenne, and by trying to shoot it down, the plane is as sovereign as the Embassy, Cheyenne attacked both, and that is a direct act of war in international rules, so technically they were already at war when this dog fight happens.

  • @TheLastCobalt In air force terms, it's called Target Fixation. F-16s are not entirely defenseless vs F-15s either. I saw how close the lead was to the leerjet when locking on, I would not fire a missile anywhere near that close to an air target, I would likely shoot myself down too, flying debris would hit me. Jake was carrying a nuke aboard, armed or not, that's an iffy shot too. Plus AS attacked Texas Embassy, then attacking its consular jet, Texas had every right to down them.

  • @WystenDraco Well, the F-15s wouldve been focused on the Leer Jet, they let down situational awareness... tossed in with hollywood... I wouldnt put it past the TANG to make short work of those F-15s.

  • As for plausibility, aircraft radars like the F-15C's APG-63 sweep in an approximately 120-degree cone directly in front of the aircraft. If those AS F-15s (still unsure where they're from) didn't have AWACS support, the Texas Vipers could have easily gotten the jump on them. In this case, the aircraft doesn't matter, it's the tactics.

  • Win. Expect this kind of thing to happen with FL/SC/AL/LA ANG fighters in a year or two at the rate we're going.

  • @TheLastCobalt lol, true, we Texans on the whole are very resourceful too, escpecially when it counds. The TANG may have very well figured out a way to modify their planes to make such a fight possible. I would not be surprised if that is the case. In any case, superior tech or not, a plane is still only as good as the pilot flying it.

  • @WystenDraco What this really shows is.... DONT FUCK WITH TEXAS.... lol

  • I knew who they were the second I saw the F-16 airframe
