Leaving in the middle east most vegetables I get are not very fresh as they have to be air shipped all the way here. Many other vegetables are sold frozen because otherwise they would not make the trip. I think frozen is better than nothing.

Been living alkaline for 3 years. Cooking & processing destroys the enzymes & makes the food acid ash-producing. The enzyme is the living part of the food that allows the body to re-create cells in a healthy way; otherwise it continues to be replicated imperfectly so the cells, the tissues, organs degenerate. We call it ageing. Ideal PH ratio is 80% alkaline to 20%acid. Even water is acid these days. Add a bit of natural mineral salt to it to make it alkaline & throw out table salt.

Yes, Currligirl. I started following an alkaline lifestyle two years ago, but it is a gradual process. You are right-- my tastebuds did change!!!

It is true. The taste buds want only fresh healthy non-chemical foods. I don't really like to name that junk "food". Have been eating alkaline for 3 years and prefer to continue on in this way. husband still eats the old way so i need to burn incense to cover the stench! no desire to eat his "food". Oh, if a person returns to old way of eating the taste buds change back & the good food no longer tastes good.

Some of the vitamins will always be lost when cooked. Frozen is better than canned by far because there are less preservatives. If you can't get fresh, then frozen is next best.

Frozen is still processed. Fresh is the only way to maintain the living part of the food. Lightly steamed or very lightly wokked preserves the integrity of the food. Best to research & become your own expert. Boiling makes water acid, so even a cup of herb tea is acid. Pay attention to the kettle so it does reach boiling point. Homemade soup is acid due to boiling & enzymes & vitamins are killed. Don't need to be all raw just aware of what to eat & when to eat it according to food-combining

Yes, you are right. "al dente" is the name of the game. For soup I usually heat some organic broth or whatever my stock is (low temp) and then just put in all chopped veggies and turn off. Let sit. Then eat. Yummy.
You have very good advice. Thanks for visiting.

Is frozen vegetable healthy? I mean is it bad to cook or heat up greens? Do some of the vitamins go away?
