Sorry, no sound. A 50-year-old "spy" transmitter in action. GRC-109 military transmitter used mostly by the CIA in the 60's. Transmitter (right) has built-in key on top. Power supply is at left. This little gem puts out about 25 watts. Just hooked up today and worked a station in Virginia and another in Oregon from my location near San Diego. (Sorry, there's no sound with this, but you can see the lights blinking!).

  • Thanks... it's actually a well designed unit and I get good tone reports with it!

  • This unit is available -- but I do not have a receiver. Contact me at k6cu at hotmail . com for details.

  • Im looking to buy a complete An/GRC 109 any for sale ?

  • Sorry there's no sound... I'll try to get a shot with a real camera next time! On page 78 of the March 2010 issue of CQ magazine is a photo of my other vintage rig: Eico 720 and SX-25.

  • VERY cool. Nice find. Great to see this old rig working stations vs sitting in a museum...thanks for posting!
