  • fuck that's beastly.

  • @Trav4011 Ahh... Yes- I've heard of this "rod/stroke ratio" before, especially with the QR. So if the rod was LONGER, and the stroke kept the same, that would be a better setup for keeping the motor together at those high rpm's? (BTW: now I know why your name is familiar to me!-- it seems to be all over the Sentra forums)

  • 8000 RPM!!! DAYUM!!!

  • @Chris17psi RTR was using the old 4 counterweight crank.. and that's the reason that you saw a lot of the problems with stress cracks/ovaling of journals. The new 8 counterweight crank can spin to around 7800rpm safely.. The stroke isn't what kills this engine.. it's the combination of short stroke/short rod (1.43:1 R/S ratio). But, that's another subject..

  • Watching that tach max out like that had me wincing and waiting for the inevitable POW! of the rod(s) divorcing themselves from the block. Seriously though--yeah i know the 07+ cranks are good and balanced and all but, that motor still has a 100 mm stroke. That is ALOT of stroke when compared to other engines...and a HELL of a lot of stroke at 8K rpm's. Team RTR's racing B15's QR showed signs of stress cracks in the crank from high rpm's of around 7500...that nugget of info is echoing in my brain

  • So what else is done to this? What kind of rods and pistons?

sick car man, Mine is still NA but theyre fun even then
