Subsequently, MOVE relocated to a row house at 6221 Osage Avenue in 1985. On May 13, 1985, responding to months of complaints by neighbors that MOVE members broadcast political messages by bullhorn at all hours and also about the health hazards posed by of the piles of compost. The police department attempted to clear the building.[6] After a standoff, police lobbed tear gas canisters at the building and the fire department battered the roof of the house with two water cannons. A burst of gunfire came from the house, touching off a return volley of thousands of rounds from police lasting 90 minutes. The police tried to remove two wood-and-steel rooftop structures, called bunkers by the police, by dropping a four-pound bomb made of C-4 plastic explosive and Tovex, a dynamite substitute, onto the roof.[7] The resulting explosion caused the house to catch fire, igniting a massive blaze which eventually consumed almost an entire city block.[8] Eleven people, including John Africa, five other adults and five children, died in the resulting fire.[9] The resulting fire was then allowed to burn. Ramona Africa and one child, Birdie Africa, were the only survivors.

  • @hulkjelly you saw the whole thing go down? i know MOVE members, i know the ones who survived both police raids, i personally know them. i know the truth behind what happened, i know what MOVE truly stands for, for I live by their example. You obviously are a corrupt cop like the ones who bombed my family members the MOVE people, spreading false artificial info on to these videos to discredit MOVE, but it won't work. People are not that stupid. MOVE's example speaks much louder than any words.

  • @LionEntity Your revisionist history lesson should begin with "once upon a time". I will not waste my time trying to convince a mumidiot of anything. I watched it all go down in real time my friend. Now why don't you go watch "Lose Change" for the hundreth time & take another bong hit. A shower might be in order as well!

  • frank rizzo rest in peace i mean piss

  • What a crock of shit - they got exactly what they deserved

  • Long live John Africa!

  • @YadaBeats Everybody knows that this government, or any other government, does everything in their power to silence people from speaking out the truth. This is not new to anybody. And this is what they did with MOVE, and with Mumia who is innocent and has not killed anybody. That's right. He did not kill ANYBODY. His criminal record is clean. He was a journalist for the oppressed. This is more than enough to try and frame him. Don't listen to those corrupt cops on youtube tryin to intimidate ppl

  • @YadaBeats No problem bro. And you know, many of the neighbors liked MOVE, even if some didn't. But most of them did, and most of them began liking them with time and supported them. Because they were seeing the righteousness in MOVE, the love, the humanity, the affection they had for people and animals and every living being. Cops want to make it seem as if they attacked MOVE cause of neighbor's complaints. But when did this government care about any poor neighborhood complaints? They never did

  • @LionEntity thanks I didn't know... but it's funny that when people are debating this subject they actually don't understand that this event is the apex of many events that span about ten years involving police brutality under Rizzo's regime. Neighbors who didn't like MOVE didn't like the reputation it was bringing into their community therefore they accepted the results. Even though there was an Afro-American mayor (in his 1st term) Rizzo's police tactics are still enforced.

  • @YadaBeats Actually my friend, the gun type is and was known cause Mumia had a 38 caliber when the bullets that killed Faulkner was a 44 caliber.

  • @bLeCompte215 yeah the best racist
