Sleeping Bear Dunes Hike!

Sherry and Bob had quite the adventure hiking the Sleeping Bear Dunes on our last trip to the Traverse City, MI area. If you are ever in the area (and are reasonably fit) it would be well worth your time to hike the dunes. The Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore area was recently Voted the "Most Beautiful Place In America in 2011" by ABC's Good Morning America http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/beautiful-place-america-revealed-sleeping-bea... , and after the hike of 3.5 miles and 4 hours round trip, over a very desolate area (no cell phone service, no cars or paved paths....just you and nature..), you'll see why it won. The views are simply incredible, rivaling some of the vistas we saw on our California Hwy 1 trip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LndvLbDqRrU . Once you reach the end of the trail at the shores of Lake Michigan, and experience the beauty of this area, you'll want to go back again and again! .
