A gym teacher from Stony Plain, Alberta is taking action to help children in Somalia with the help of former hostage Amanda Lindhout.

Following her release in Somalia, the Alberta journalist vowed she would spend her life empowering women in that country.

Both Lindhout and Amanda Small believe people can be their best through sport and are doing everything they can to help make that happen.

CTV Edmonton's Jessica Earle talked to both Lindhout and Small about their endeavour.
