Spiral Knights - Tier 2 Run + Jelly King Boss

This is the second tier of the game, you may enter this tier with two star equipment (tier 1 is with 0 star equipment), I am playing this with 4 star equipment, or the minimum equipment for the final tier, tier 3.

My equipment is full on normal and piercing defense, the defenses to counter jellies. My sword is calibur an all purpose sword, so isn't specifically designed to kill this boss, but since it is all purpose it works fine as support.

The boss is the Jelly King, present if you enter the gate with the jelly icon on the fourth stratum (fourth icon from top to bottom). It is particularly hard because it summons dozens of miny jellies, and killing them is not an options, because it just keeps summoning them forever. Also evading and hitting the boss slowly is not an option either, one of its powers is regeneration, it will keep using it until it goes back to full health. When you deal enough damage to it, the king turns purple and starts a tantrum attack, several attacks on a rectangular pattern with healing in between, this pushes you and the mini cubes everywhere and deals decent damage if you get hit, the mini cubes despite being mini also deal decent damage and are in overwhelming numbers. So... you either can kill this boss quickly, or you can't.

I was trying to record a solo run of this (no idea if I was going to pull it off, much less without deaths). But then realized I had left the option for friends to join, this one in particular was doing JK runs for the token it drops, so he summoned his friends and we had a party going.

I did pull off doing the run without deaths by playing less recklessly than my party :) Although I did a really bad boss battle, I barely did my job as support, taking the aggro from the initial jellies, but also hitting the boss with my charge attacks. But I totally hate that I missed two of the three curses.

As a plus the stratums on this video are different from the other one, so you can see other enemy types and their "custom" levels.

While I have done a deathless tier 3, it was bossless too. The boss on tier 3 looks really hard (and I got destroyed on the first hundred meters of its stratum, although I did learn how to evade the spiked wheels it for the next time) so I'll have to get the correct equipment before trying to tackle it.

@SuperPrankzta121 choose start a new party and it will work. If you join a party you may join a party that is further down.

@ZimmerSquash get full armor(wolver) shield(owlite) and one weapon (calibur), all with 2 stars. Then play and you will be able to cross the white barrier at the end of tier 1.

I get sooooo ocd when playing spiral knights, i HAVE to destroy every single destroyable block.
