just to help you, its pronounced 'car-dee-oid', the switches on the back are (in your order) attenuation (NOT gain), its a -10db 'pad' in case you have a really loud source (>136 db spl (sound pressure level)) to prevent clipping at the source(if the mic clips, you can't get rid of that in post prod.), and the second switch is the 'low cut' (or high pass) filter. It cuts out low freq. (below 100Hz for this mic). the flat line is 'off', the bent line is 'on' or 'rolled off'. see the manual
