This video was taken back in Sept. when my Siberian Husky, Keisha turned one, but I thought it would be fitting to put the video up on my birthday (Jan 30th)!

I'm training her to become my next guide/service dog. My current guide dog Sophie is also in the video.

  • I like the way Sophie runs her nose along whatever that is you gave her before taking it in her mouth at 1:02. Reminds me of you feeling the laundry with your face in the "how I became a quad" video. She's not picking up your habits is she?

  • LOL I'm not quite sure which one of us is picking habits up from the other one! When you've worked together for 9 yrs I guess it's unavoidable.

It was a bone, but she don't really like chewing bones unless it's her Nylabone. She still has the same one she got at guide dog school in 2000! That's how much she likes chewing.

  • I have a question. Since you are blind, how do you watch videos on youtube?

  • I listen to them. But I don't know any blind people who actually say "listen to" instead of "watch" including myself.

  • Hope you had a good birthday.

  • Thanks! I did, but I didn't really do anything. I'm going to wait and have a party with my boyfriend when we move next month.

  • Hey! I love siberian Huskies. and I cannot get enough of them! I was at the Pet Expo all weekend in Orange County, California. And I told every husky owner I cannot get enough of them. I am legally blind and hard of hearing. and I would love to have a husky as my guide dog someday. My blind friend who has a lab as hid guide dog knows how much I love huskies. So could you bring any dog to a service dog training school or do you train them yourself?

  • What a cool video.I loved it!Kiesha seems like a handful.But a wonderful dog.The other dog seems more at ease(probably older?).

There is something special about animals and children.

  • Actually, Sophie's look in this whole video is a sight to behold - she looks so fed up and tired, particularly in the last minute and a half or so. She looks like a tired old dawg who's been pulling a big lump around all day and doesn't much like this young whipper-snapper she has to share you with in her old age.

  • Keisha looks like a very happy animal! And happy birthday to you! I read your description. Shame on me for missing that day. :)
