An unprecedented up close, inside look in high-definition of space shuttle Atlantis as it was readied for "towback" from Kennedy's Shuttle Landing Facility runway to Orbiter Processing Facility-1 following its May 26 landing on STS-132. After every shuttle landing, about 150 trained workers assist the crew out and prepare the shuttle for towing atop a large diesel-driven tractor to its processing hangar.

  • Incredible video, what a treat.

I wish NASA would (be allowed to) build another 5 brandnew space-shuttles, and could make use of all the knowledge and experience that there is now and astronauts paid with their lives for.

What an absolute intolerable waste, to stop this program.

  • Great Video. it's disgusting that the shuttle program is being closed.

  • be funny takeing a dump in space lol

  • great inside view.. thanks for this! :)

  • @ArmyFtBall I know but some of us knew that the space station was the last of the shuttles challenges but as others have said investing in 5 new shuttle would cost your US goverment nearly 6.0 Billion if you look at the costs back in the 1980's which have skyrocketed since. this is what has delayed development of a craft to replace the shuttle.

  • @hackneysaregreat With the money saved by not investing in 5 new space shuttles, we could provide writing and grammar courses for free.

  • I've been waiting for a video like this for a long time. Great vid!

  • @mdr48371 What, probes to Mars or an actual proper manned mission?

  • Wow nice inside view.

  • @watkinscopicat velcro

  • Very cool video.

Sure it's sad to see the shuttles go, but NASA is trading up for Mars.

  • this is so awesome, thanks NASA!
