HP's new Elitebooks are incredibly easy to open up should you need to repair or upgrade them. You can swap out memory within a few seconds and there's only three screws holding the hard drive in place. ;
the back is easy but how the heck do i replace my web cam? i can't manage to get any further than removing the 2 screws on the bottom of the screen (i use elitebook 8560w)
It's not the 8560W which I got, exchanging a part is a breeze though. Exchanging parts with battery connected is risky though, mate had his mobo fried when exchanging ram while battery connected.
@joshua8751 It doesn't, it's a "user-exchangeable part". However, you will need an HDD/SSD frame to put the drive in, and it seems as though HP only wants to sell you (a) a frame with a 500GB HDD already built-in, or (b) an SSD without a frame. It's a bit daft.
You talked about only one memory. This laptop have two of them. How do you get into the other one?

Do you know if, say, replacing the optical drive with an SSD would void the warranty?
