Chavez is a good man who works for his people, anyone who acknowledges and understands history knows this. But good guys don't win, and when he is sitting on top of the 2nd largest oil reserves on the planet, he definitely will not win.

Would you say there is a connection to Chavez' cancer and the fact that Venesuala has the 2nd largest proven oil reserves on the planet?

Homophobia is a staple of conservatism and of right-wing politics. Incidentally, so is being bigoted and uneducated.

You seem to have all of these "qualities". :-)

As a leader he could just work for the benefit of the rich but he chooses not to which is rare, compassionate and brave, yes i give him credit for that.

He has already named his predecessor if he dies and i think all the impoverished people of Venezuela would want him to survive and continue raising their standard of living. He's hardly Berlusconi with cocaine and prostitutes everywhere or the pope with a throne of gold pretending to help the poor, Chavez has actually brought results.

@alhazed You're giving him a great amount of credit for what he's SUPPOSE to do. If a leader is given a position of power to change things and make things better then that's just what he should do. If he is rewarded for what he's done that's great. I guess if he is still needed and wanted as the leader because he gets things done then I guess he should receive good care (prolonging life) because the people need him to keep positive change. happening. Should prepare for new leader if he dies.

If you truly think any country or individual can live by the true standards of a Socialist, Capitalist, Communist, Fascist then your being more than a little unrealistic. His Socialist persuasion is driven by the injustice his seen to his people and he's done much more for them than any before him, personally i would like him to live and continue the good work he has done..he's quite an important fellow for many South Americans if you didnt know already.
