1979 Club Car fitted with a 90 horsepower JFS-100 twin spool turboshaft engine. Top design speed is 80 mph, but I've only had it up to 75 so far.

  • Do the golf courses limit you to the cart path or are you allowed in the grass. Ha Ha. Absolutely awesome man. You've got some major kahonies.

  • Glad you liked it. I haven't yet found a golf course that would let me run it, but just out of consideration I'd keep to paved cart paths since I leave a streak of dead grass any time I drive it through the turf.

  • did you take your weight/cart weight into consideration fort hat calculation o: so close to target speed!

  • I did not take weight into consideration. I figured that with gearing as it is, the engine might have power to spare but then I could simply back off the throttle to keep the power turbine from overspeeding. This has not been an issue because with the throttle pedal floored I'm only getting 97 percent gas generator speed. A throttle cable adjustment would get me 10 more horsepower, but it was hairy enough at 75 mph so I haven't yet felt the need to make that adjustment.

  • @kittypoo500 putt*

  • lol youre trying to put and then this guy drives by...

  • Is this working off the jet's thrust or is it powered by the shaft? If the latter, is there a clutch then?

  • This is the silliest and useless thing ever, and that´s why is the one of the coolest thing ever.

  • I simply love people that can come up with creative ideas like this!

Fun to watch! Keep it up!

  • So is this an electric hybrid? The turbine drives a generator? Or is there a mechanical link from the turbine shaft to the wheel gearbox?

  • dear santa......

  • That's absolutely awesome! A great fabrication job all the way round especially on the air intakes. I'm gonna bet that you upgraded that old steering box to the rack and pinion type?

  • Quit breaking the sound barrier, lol :P
