I used a box of 100 Remington .22LongRifle cartridges, 20 of them failed to shoot.

Those ammo seem not to fit pistols since lots of people told me they had the same problem, with pistols only.

  • a guy told me once that remington .22 ammo is extremely bad just a heads up

  • @TurtleBoy13579 they appear to be very bad for pistols and pretty fine for rifles... don't ask me.. lol

  • wow, alot of probs w/ this handgun? my friend owns one, and we ran over 1500 rounds through it in one outing, and the only problem we had was extraction at around 1000+. due to it being dirty of course. we were all amazed. the mags are great too. my only complaint is the location of the mag release. i kept releasing the mag while i was firing it. why did they put it in front like that?

  • @devildroid667 The gun itself is fine unless it's fed with non suitable ammunitions. About the mag release button, i never heard anyone complain about it before. If you are holding the gun correctly you can't release the mag by accident. At least on mine it's impossible, it has to be pressed pretty firmly and with the tip of the finger.

  • @Renard380 We were shooting winchester bulk HV HP's, federal bulk, and Remington bulk. i don't remember what remington's they were. sure not the golden bullet's. those will gum up any .22Lr on the market. I remember trying some of those Remington Peter's rounds. not a good choice either. so why doesn't everyone 'feed' it rounds that will actually work with it? it 'eats' bulk winchester rounds like a champ.

  • @devildroid667 As far as i can tell 22A's only hate Remington bullets. Those will misfire with a 20% probability while ammo from any other manufacturer will work just fine. However the strong slide spring makes it necessary to use high velocity rounds for the gun to cycle well. I personnaly use Winchester Super Speed.

  • @ntchstang I think I figured it out on mine. I was getting like a 2/5 rate failing. I don't think it's the 22a's, I think it's the clip. When you load a bullet, let the spring push it all the way up, then lower the spring. If the bullet stays at the top, catching on the metal, but still drops down when you jostle it a bit, that one is going to jam. But if you pull the spring down and the bullet slides too, it's going to go through just fine. I think the shape of the top of the clip-Try it out...

  • i have shoot about 200 cci stingers no fails from those and about 300 federal value pack with about 5 fails out of the 300

  • @ntchstang i've had the problem of the stuck casings too but using stronger ammunitions fixes that. The problem comes from the fact the slide doesn't get enough power to move back completely and so it comes back too early and the casing is still in the way. It's avery good gun, at least mine is.

  • I have that problem with mine too, most of the time the spent round is sideways jamed between the barrel and the slide. I just disassembled the gun completely today and found that the slide and frame surface were never machined smooth, just a cheap casting finish(I have fired over a thousand rounds) and it is still rough. After tearing mine apart I have realised that it is a cheap made gun with not much attention to detail. My first and last Smith and Wesson.
