It's a great song coming from the BEST, Mr. Ray Stevens!! I remember when it became a big hit; but looking back, I thought it was earlier than 1980 for some reason. Thanks for posting the video, yankee 1830!

This may be the very first time Ray performed this song on television or anywhere else for that matter...it's from 1979 and I don't think it was available as a commercial single yet. The single hit in February 1980 but was recorded, of course, earlier than that.
