  • There's a Microsoft Tech report published in 2002 about World Wide Telescope, it just wasn't made into a public tool because, it wasn't thought to be valuable for general consumer use until Google came up with Google Sky. Not to mention, content wise it is far more comprehensive then all the other tools. If you were involved in Astronomy community, you'd know how all this data integration was done (by whom and with whose funding) you wouldn't make such ignorant comments

  • this is some great sh*t...

  • is there an app that shows real time sky?

  • Wow I was pretty stoked when I heard about Photosynth, but this is AMAZING! It's like a synth of the whole damn universe as far as we can see it! AWESOME! Hurray for SeeDragon (sp?) the tech behind the crazy ability to zoom in on other galaxies in this worldwide telescope project. I figured it was just a matter of time before they did something like this but so soon? Wow what a treat! I am quite literally star struck here! ^_^
