  • How long did it take for you to get the hang of it. i have tried n they keep coming out hard n white. no browns spots. This is harder than it looks or i just am not a tortilla maker. But my daughter ants them so bad but store bought ones taste nasty. Do you have an idea what i might be doing wrong?

  • @MrsKrissyB The most important step to making your tortillas soft in the end is putting them under paper towel and then tin foil on top wrapped really tight right after they come off the griddle. That is what makes them so soft and pliable. The brown spots come when your griddle is just the right temperature. It needs to be really hot before you start making your tortillas because the tortillas begin to bubble up causing the brown spots in the area where they bubble up. Hope this helps!

  • Thanks for making that looks so easy. I think I will give it a try!

  • Your very welcome. I just love making tortillas. It is actually fun once you get the hang of it and they are so very very delicious, you may never go back to store bought tortillas again.

  • Thanks for the info. Do you oil the pan you cook on? And could you use a frying pan instead of the griddle?

  • I don't oil the pan or griddle. Yes you can use a regular pan. Glad you enjoyed the video!!

  • Good video, very helpful :)

  • Nice job. Tonight I've added a 'lil onion powder, granulated garlic and cayenne pepper to them. Hope they turn out as good lookin' as yours. I've rolled them to thick in the past, thanks for the vid! Yours look nice and pliable....

  • hey good video..never used self rising flour..thanks

  • Very good - just a suggestion though - when you get ready to spread your ball of flour, flatten it a bit with you hand and flour your rolling pin like you did and only sprinkle flour on top of your flatten ball. See this will help you stretch it better and faster as the bottom part will have a better grip and you won't have your tortilla slippen and sliding. Just a tip, try it you'll see this really works. Remember to sprinkle very little flour so your tortillas don't come out feeling sandy.

  • great video! im so gonna try your technique!

  • super video :D jutro na obiad zrobię dla rodziny tortillę !! Dzięki :*
