@dennismrls The thing is that VS ending is a hopeful ending, it fades to white... with ALO is a depressing ending it fades to black, both are really good and you'll likely choose one base on your preferences (happy endings or sad endings)

i preferred vanilla sky, it seemed to mean more, especially with the references to popular culture. however that's probably because i saw that one first so to keep everyone happy i'll just lie and say i prefer abre los ojos...

@therealdjcammONUTUBE I like'em both dude, I think anglo people will relate more with VS than ALO, just like spanic people will relate more with ALO, it's a matter of culture and idiosycracy of the region, I, knowing both cultures and getting the references i like'em both in their own way

artisticamente "abre los ojos" es impecablemente creíble y profunda. Vanilla sky es estéticamente impecable pero carece de alma y profundidad.

@dennismrls Exactly, Spanish films are REAL LIFE. Hollywood films are cheesy. Always happy endings, FAKE LIFE. "Abre los ojos" is deep and Shocking, and makes you think about the hypocrisy in the REAL LIFE. REAL LIFE most often is not pretty and happy. Vanilla Sky loses the essence of the original film. And the Spanish actors in this movie are better than in the REMAKE. This is REAL SPANISH LIFE OF THE NINETIES. If you dont understand the Spanish idiosyncrasy, perhaps didn´t understand the film.

I loved both but I prefer Vanilla sky mainly because Vanilla Sky hits on a deeper level imo especially the ending.

Abre los ojos!! Mi película preferida de Amenábar, hay gente que no la entiende y le parece un rollo pero yo la entendí muy bien, creo que cada uno de nosotros creamos nuestra propia realidad, esta vida es solo una ilusión y un día abriremos los ojos.

Vanylla sky es una imitación muy mala la verdadera esencia de la película es la que miramos cuando dirige Amenabar.
