Cruise Ship Sinks in ITALY - Sky News 14-01-2012

At least 50 people are believed to be missing and three are dead after a packed cruise liner began capsizing off the Italian coast after running aground.
Twenty-four British holidaymakers were on the Costa Concordia which had left port at 7pm for a seven-day Mediterranean Cruise - but within two hours, it ran aground in the sea with a major electrical fault. The 13 deck liner then began to take on water after hitting rocks creating a 160ft gash in the hull, near the island of Giglio, off the Tuscan coast. About 4,200 passengers and crew were evacuated but Italian officials said this afternoon at least 50 people had not yet been accounted for, although they warned the passenger list might not be fully up-to-date. Italian news agency Ansa is reporting that 4,165 out of the 4,234 people on-board had been accounted for, taking the number of potentially missing people to 69. Coast guards and divers have spent the morning searching the submerged decks looking for further fatalities.Passengers said the ship had begun to sink so much it was difficult to launch lifeboats, while some said they saw holiday-makers leaping into the water to swim to safety.
At least three bodies have been recovered from the sea. Fourteen people are believed to have minor injuries such as bruising.

@kunjidee yeah the Captain Coward is italian! But that guy who died leaving his place on the lifeboat to a child is italian too! That guy who helped lots of people to leave the ship and then searching for missing persons broke a leg and stood there injuried for 38 hours is italian too! The citizens of Giglio helped the passengers with everything they got and they are italians too! Please just quit with your prejudices! (sorry for my english)

This is nothing like the Titanic over 1,500+ people died. While only about 20+ bodies have been found on the cruise ship. Stop comparing it to the Titanic!
