In this VAIO Z test, Sony engineers look to ensure the chassis can withstand intense pressure and protect the critical hardware within. In this test, pressure is applied to the most commonly affected areas: the lid and palm-rest.

The result: The notebook's chassis returned to pre-test form without damage to the LCD screen, inner hardware or frame in general.

  • Some time ago I dropped my Vaio Z, laying inside a specific notebook sleeve which in turn was being carried in a backpack. Unfortunately it fell on its side and the metal chassis bent near the left display hinge :( No other damage though. I wonder how much the repair will cost, as I haven't had the possibility to work without my mobile "powerhouse" yet!

The thing I hate most about my Vaio Z is the presence of some bright marks (similar to stains) on the screen!

  • REALLY FAKE, IT DOESN'T WITHSTAND SUCH A SHOCK. I HAVE ONE MYSELF AND IS BROKEN B PRESSURE OF VERY SMALLER MAGNITUDE. SOMEONE MUST SUE SONY FOR SUCH UNREASONABLE VIDEOS. THEIR SUPPORT HERE IN EUROPE IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT FOR ANY PRODUCT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT.

  • @HolidayNova Mine doesn't either, I'm scared everytime I accidentally touch the screen as it generates great amounts of flex

  • my new Z doesn't feel that strong!!!

  • How much force was exerted there? I'm guessing its the upper number, so is it 20 pounds or KG?

  • haha that`s mean

  • Poor Vaio :( I dont want to do that with my 1900 buck machine

  • the site says it is..i think its the bottom piece tho
