Epiphone Prophecy SG Custom GX "Unboxing"

Just got it today. Was on sale, saved like 200 bucks. :D Electronics seem to be in need of inspection, set up is pretty good right off the box but needs a little tweaking. I may just get it professionally set up with the electronics check. Pretty happy. ;)

EDIT: "It looked lighter in stores but I guess that was the yellow lighting." I checked again. The in store ones I saw ARE lighter. I've also seen a variation where the body sides are darker and almost black. I think mine is pretty close to how it's shown in Epi's official site. Either way they all look nice. :)

Nice guitar man, and about the color: the first epiphone prophecy GX, 2008, are indeed lighter color, the darker color is from the EX with EMG pickups, later they change the colors leaving the dark cherry to the gibson loaded and black to the emg loaded.

By the way now in 2011 is discontinued, now the new model has different gibson pickups, different inlays and 4 pots, the classic les paul pots

By the way they had not updated the web with this series, only inside the cathalog come the new les pauls, no sign of SG's

@Thawist I first thought they were demos, but as I said I saw them on sale in a webpage, can't remember if was musician's friend or something like that. I also like the dark cherry better. I'm waiting to finding it on sale, special, cheaper so I can afford it.

This guitar is awesome, my parent's finally got me this last weekend and this baby is really sick from looks to sound qualities. I'm supposed to get the LP but it is too heavy for me, I'm only 12 years old. Sound/tone quality is almost the same as what I can get from a high-end LP minus the weight. And by the way you can have a single coil sound on those 2 pups just tap the volume knob. It is a very versatile guitar plus I got this baby for $399 Canadians (yeah Canadians!). It's a steal!

Nice sg but its not Gibson USA Authorized. The only sg's from Epiphone that are Gibson USA Authorized are the G-400 standard 1962 sg. G-400 1966 sg. The G-400 custom sg. All the Epiphone custom shop and limited edition sg's. These are Authorized.
