pardon if u dont like double commenting but this is starting to bother me now. the way i see it the games 'couldn't' be scary in the old days because AMERICAN CORPORATE CHOICE OF IMPORTED ENTERTAINMENT FUCKIN SUCKS and good games werent even given a chance. the game Sweet Home i mentioned looks like freaky shit. America's censors just filtered the game out of our industries because they're tasteless and uptight duchebags who just don't want our culture to try new things, like they'v always been.

wait, they said the older games couldnt be scary? Zombie Nation creeped me out some. and yo, i just recently discovered this Famicom game Sweet Home via internet of course cuz its not american released. just by the clips i'v seen about it on youtube, i'm shockingly eager to get my hands on a reproduced copy of it. just the little things i saw on Sweet Home surprised me on just house graphic and, to an extend, disturbing it does seem for a late-80s 2D platform game

I hate those monsters that come through the windows on alone in the dark, they are so annoying, I've been killed by that thing 5 times, they just move fast like you have no time to hit or shoot

I wish they interviewed the game developers rather than journalists. I would love to hear what the designers had to say in their own words like what inspired them to create scary games.

There were plenty of adventure horror games that weren't FMV's, but in typical G4 style they have to give all the credit to the FPS's and console titles while slamming PC adventure games as usual. ok, so they gave a nod to "Alone In the Dark" and "7th Guest", mostly because they knew they had to, but there were so many other games in that genre that were AMAZING and they didn't even mention them...the FMV games weren't that bad anyway, "Phantasmagoria" was brilliant and totally revolutionary.

Splatterhouse isn't a an awful game. As a kid I found Splatterhouse 2 and 3 to be pretty creepy games.
