This will be a more comprehensive movie, especially for those who don't have the game (PC version), or simply have an appreciation for such an awesome game, played on Insanity mode using a Vanguard. The movies can also be used as a guide. Although I'm more of a twitch gamer, more used to FPSs, I wanted to attempt using Biotics. The Vanguard offers shooter style play (and my fav weapon, the shotgun), along with Biotics. Rifle was chosen as an added bonus skill.

Movie Info: The Normandy travels to the planet Elodus and discovers the fate of some missing marines. Warning: Contains spoilers. Captured with FRAPS. Class: Vanguard.

Gameplay info: I'm deliberately playing ME as a shooter with fast, interruption free combat.

  • those things scare the crap out of me every time they pop up out of the ground

  • Heh, yeah, know what you mean. Especially when you don't know there's one there. Even when I know one is lurking, waiting to ambush the Mako, they still make me jump.

  • They kinda remind me of that movie, Tremors. That movie scares the crap out of me too. :P

  • Heh, yeah, they are very similar indeedy.

  • Its funny when i first saw a thresher maw i had a conversation with my friend asking him if there were any monster while driving the tank and he was like "no", than BOOM THREASER MAW

  • haha those things are like in the Tremors movies

  • Holy crap! THAT's a thresher maw?! That thing's terrifying and a half. (And really makes me wonder how a Shepard with Sole Survivor managed to escape those things.)

  • The first time I came up against a Thresher Maw I s**t myself.

There was no heads up or anything. I was just exploring a random planet and then all of a sudden this thing just pops up from the ground and starts spitting at me.

    Talk about insta-skid marks.

  • I always play around with the thrusters when I drive the Mako, it's great xD

  • haven't been able to see the videos so its nice to seem them agian thanks for the videos

  • Cheers dude, thats really helpful to know for any future playthroughs I might have!

  • Thresher Maws are found on:

    -Trebin

    -Antibaar

    -Edolus

    -Xawin

    -Nonuel

    -Chohe

    -Nepheron

    -Presrop

So if you aren't on one of those planets, you're safe.

  • Yeah, any completely flat land I avoid like the plague. Slightly bumpy terrain is fine, and the really rocky stuff is fine, but flat ground I stay away from. Even when my ship is first dropped off, I don't move until I can find the shortest distance to to some rocky ground. I'm weird like that!

  • Yeah, if I'm forced into an obvious situation with them, like the mission in the video, then I go out slowly, and when they surface, I get a bit closer to them, then stay there, just using my thrusters to jump over their projectiles, cause I know that if I move, they move, and I hate that!
