Comparison Video of the U-Flycam and Opteka X-Grip

Camera Settings:
18-55mm VR
Auto WB
ISO 200

This was just a test to see what kind of improvements the U-Flycam made. The D5000 is mounted on the U-Flycam and on an Opteka X-Grip. I wasn't doing anything too fancy, just running around trying to keep up with my daughter. I still need to fine tune the balancing and hopefully it gets better.

If you have any tips on how to balance this thing, please let me know. Or if you have questions regarding any test footage you want me to shoot, please let me know.

  • Thanks for posting. I was thinking about getting the x-grip. Do you find it to be more stable and easy to use?

  • I use it mainly when I longboard. It helps me get a low angle and it gives me something to hold on to while boarding. As far as stability, I think it helps out a lot.

  • Yes it is. Thank you.

  • @filminggrandpa your retarded

  • I had an X-grip as well, I realized after 2 skate sessions that it was very wobbly with my 2 cheap LED lights mounted. I'm going to check out Cam Caddie i'll be back for a follow-up

  • @afterbanghero no you're* retarded

  • PEDO ALERT!!!!!

    lol jk nice video

  • my dslr moves on it for some reason..?

  • Defintiely go with Cam Caddie Drac. It's much more professional for the same price as the X-grip on Amazon. This video is way off the mark on display.

  • Both of these are kncok-offs cheaply made and way less efficient than the CamCaddie I bought recently. I had returned my X-grip after some disappointing outings.

  • Ok for short films and films what are these for which scenes? Can they replace some dolly shots? And which of these is better?

  • I think I would rather watch the U-Flycam video because, even though it looks like you had a harder time, it felt smoother and the video seemed to "flow." I got pretty worn after watching the X-grip video for a while.
